The Rubicons 01-11 and Rincons don't use the same type of transmissions as the ES models.Feb 1, 2015 · Remove the shift motor and gears (very simple to do). Remove all the factory stiff, gummy grease that was put in the shift gears. Now, replace all that grease with a liberal amount of ALL-temperature, White Lithium Grease. Reassemble, and your shifting will be better. This works for all ES models except the Rincon. It adds the DCT (dual-clutch transmission). DCT is a true high-performance 5-speed auto trans, but it has the option of shifting manually via push-button. It is actually $200 cheaper to step up to the $7499 FourTrax Rancher 4×4 Automatic DCT IRS. It has the premium transmission with independent rear suspension, but it lacks EPS.When driving, automatic gear shifting gets disabled. Engine is warm at operating temperature. 3. There is an 8mm shaft coming out of the front of the motor, goes through the shift motor gear assembly. Put a 8mm wrench or socket on it and try to shift it up and down. If that works than your problems are electric. If that doesn't work than you have a mecanical problem.
