I got a 1990 7.3 f250 that hasn’t run in a while for next to nothing. I’m not too familiar with these engines. Charged up the batteries and load tested them, working perfect. When I try to crank it, the starter engages and you can see it try to crank but it can’t do it and just makes a violent clunk. The E4OD does not shift by releasing one clutch and simultaneously applying the next; the 4R110 does but that's a different animal that uses software to get the timing right. So chances are, this may have been bleeding fluid pressure and lubricant from early on. My 88 IDI has a new engine but no block heater. When i started putting these with the injectors on to the motor, the fuel filter bracket was just a tad bit in the way. 1. Location. utah. Actually, it seems that the zf5 uses a bell housing adapter to connect to the IDI, but the zf6 doesn't use one to connect to the powerstroke. I'll see if I can't dig up a pic. The bell housing bolt patterns are the same.
