I think castrol is about the best synthetic out there but if you find one better it is not too late to change brands so long as it is a full synthetic brand.I have a 2007 gsx-r 750 that i just used amsoil 10w40 in and i can hear a little valve tapping now. It does not say specifically that motorcycle oil should be used nor does it specify synthetic vs. regular. I also do not know whether SG or other grades of oil would be better.
