ILS, you are exactly right. It is a bit semi-permanent, but for me I have no chores for the 3-point that don't involve a top link. I used a clevis pin with a threaded end, and cut off about an inch or so. The top link and clevis pin were tapped into place together since the clevis itself has to go in at a slight angle.
