Although suitable loads for the 45-70 could be developed with TAC, it is evident that the two sources I know of chose X-Terminator to develop loads for the 45-70. You learn something new everyday whether you want to or not.

Trail Boss didn't even come close to being the best powder in the 45-70 for accuracy, and recoil with other powders is very, very mild if loaded right.
