Aug 25, 2023 · Anyone else worried about the thickness of the padding. Looks pretty thin but it’s hard to tell from the photos. I have a raceface pad that works really well, is reallly well padded, and holds 5 bikes. That said I like the way the Rivian pad looks and fits so am on the fence for sure.

Yesterday I tried the Race Face T2, which I picked because it has significant padding right where others have experienced issues with the tailgate ridge. It worked perfectly and as you’d expect. The main issue with the Rivian design is that because of the tailgate taillight bar, the pad design cannot block it, so the pad doesn't cover enough of the tailgate to be usable for most adult-sized bikes. ·

I've used multiple Fox pads with my former Ram 1500 and my R1T and haven't had any issues.
