EMS Operations. MCFR is committed to the providing reliable, and well-trained emergency medical services (EMS) to the community. Emergency medical technicians (EMTs) new to MCFR sign a contract that requires them to become paramedics within five years of their hire date. This training includes an additional year of extensive schooling and training. It is the policy of the City of Ocala that no one under the age of 16 shall be hired or allowed to volunteer for any position. The City of Ocala reserves the right to close positions at any time.
