Doesn't quite work as well with flat screens though. In my area it’s because the living rooms are so small, the only wall is above the fireplace which is too tall. Or people want to place the sofa to face the fireplace and the only way to also hang a TV is above it. I’ve seen so many houses like that. Samsung's Odyssey Ark has an interesting vertical mode. seems pretty gimmicky outside of very niche applications. I think they just have the equipment to make these because of the curved screen TV craze that never came. That ended 4-5 years ago though.
