Oct 7, 2019 · While checking over the Kia this evening, I noticed a small amount of coolant on the garage floor. I looked on the side of the engine and saw a large amount of green coolant residue around the water pump pulley and draining down. I assume the water pump is leaking due to failure. Has anyone replaced a water pump? Doesn’t look that difficult. The vent is held in by small spring clips attached to the vent unit. To remove it I used a small square ended filler knife under the bottom of the vent and levered it out until I could get hold of the edge and remove it with my fingers.
