Chernarus is still my favorite, but have been spending sometime checking out Esseker and Chiemsee. Both have very good chances of being one of the best modded maps, with great potential and variety in landscapes available in one map. Not many servers right now running Chiemsee map in NA zone (seem more popular in EU).

I've been recently been told getting arms 3 and playing DayZ through that has lots of AI and missions that work far better than the DayZ stand alone AI mod. On our server they are kinda stupid AI but the admin said if they made them any "smarter" they would head shot you on site every time.
