I am trying to renovate my internal network and while working with Shaw on some signal issues, that they have handled exceptionally.

For a separate modem and router setup: Unplug the power cord from the router. Unplug the power cord from the modem and remove any batteries. Wait at least 1 minute to plug the modem back in. Wait for the modem to power on completely. To identify whether it has done so, check if all the lights on the modem have turned on.

If you are using something in InSSIDer or another analyzer on a machine that does not have 5GHz adapter, you may not see the 5GHz channel signals - hidden or otherwise I believe.
