Engine- Engine overheating is one of the major issues faced by 2016 Chevrolet Sonic owners. The engine shuts off randomly while driving along with an engine malfunction and overheating warning lamps. The issue was traced to be a failing/cracking thermostat housing which causes the coolant to leak from the vehicle when running.
There are two main causes for engine overheat: ⚠️ The coolant does not flow through the system like it should.
