Then leave the ears alone until entirely healed.It's just for pure looks and for the dobes that are in the show ring. It's a regular part of the breed standard and some breeders don't really give you a choice nowadays. It's not the 1800s anymore so being a working doberman isn't a reason for cropping anymore.
